Waking up to Buffalo

Example
CBS’ “Sunday Morning” program had a 1 minute story about Buffalo and Buffalo Old Home Week. Initially it was exciting to see Buffalo on a national program but here’s my transcript of what i saw…

“Buffalo is having an ‘Old Home Week’ for the 1st time since 1907″ (Show Buffaloes grazing)
“Buffalo used to be successful, Mark Twain even lived there” (Roaring 20’s pics, then a pic of Mark Twain)
“Every menu in America has Buffalo in it” (Show people eating wings)
“People know Buffalo for its snow” (Late 80’s, early 90’s footage of cars struggling in snow)
“But did you also know their football team won a championship recently (Show early 90’s tailgaters in Rich Stadium wearing Beebe and Tasker jerseys)
“blah blah blah, Buffalo.” (Worst establishing shot of the HSBC center ever seen)

Wait, Buffalo won a championship recently? First of all, no. Second of all that “Championship” happened 13 years ago at least. So yeah all the footage they showed was probably used by CBS NFL games back during the Bills glory days.

Any publicity is good publicity though.
