Skyline.

Whenever someone thinks of the skyline of Buffalo, the Lake Erie view comes to mind, but its a very boring look at the skyline if you ask me. The HSBC tower sticks out like a sore thumb, dwarfing everything else while being far away from it all. You usually just notice the four main skyscrapers (City Hall, Main Place, Liberty, HSBC) and thats that.
THe view from the East side of Buffalo however-is stunning. I remember the 1st time my dad drove me downtown on the 33 and I felt an incredible sense of awe looking at the crazy variety of buildings downtown had, all clumped together in a tight cluster. The Key Towers seem just slightly shorter than the HSBC tower, and City Hall is much more humble in stature from the angle. The Rand building gets more recognition too.
This isn’t quite from the 33, its from a parking garage by Roswell Park but I intend on going up the hill on Goodell Street when the skies become clearer to take the best shot of Buffalo.
A lovely evening by the river

Here’s the whole shoot
I’m not even close to being Maxigumee at all nor do I attempt to but I enjoy the occasional venture into the artistic side of my brain. So yesterday me and a couple of my friends from Jersey and Albany respectivley, joined me for a venture to the glorious Buffalo River area. Obviously this wasn’t gonna give them a flattering 1st impression of our downtown but whatevs.
Anywho, went by the chemical plant my dad used to get payed to dump their waste into the river despite purchasing a 1 million dollar filtration system, and saw a bunch of buildings that hadn’t been used in prolly 20 years but randomly you’ll find a bustling bar or car repair shop along the way.

It was a fun shoot and I’ll prolly try it again in a different part of the city.

Apparently the HSBC Tower is a tropical paradise on the inside despite being a soviet-looking eyesore on the outside. Hooray!

Well since we’re in a baseball state of mind…here’s a picture I found from a website devoted to the employees of WBEN over the years…
