You Are Reading The Bills Section

So yeah, when’s the next Sabres’ game?

example
Well I will say this…at least it wasn’t a painful and excruciating loss. We were down early, and we never had any false hopes of a win. I like to be warned in advance of losses so I thank you, Buffalo Bills, for making today’s loss nearly pain-free.

With that said, I expect a swift and thorough kick in the ass to the Detroit Lions next Sunday. Kthxbye.

It’s never easy

Example
Why make it easy when you can put your entire fan base on medic-alert? The Vikings could have won this one on their final drive but…phew…that dropped catch…my heart…it stopped.

Once again though, Losman looked reallly solid…obviously he still has some learning to do but i was pretty impressed. Balanced passing game, and McGahee was okay.

2-2 ain’t so bad for where a lot of people (myself included) thought we would be.

Grrr.

example
I am drained. As always, the Bills have an orgasmic opening drive only to cave in. Go figure that the 1st game in which our offense puts up amazing numbers (McGahee 140+ rushing yards, Parrish and Evans over 100yds recieving, Losman over 300yds passing) we somehow manage to not pull off a W.

I’m sure Losman is gonna take a lot of heat for that last drive (and those were some prettty terrible throws) but overall he used his recievers well, showed some poise (rushing TD especially), and escaped some sacks that many QB’s can’t. He’ll learn from this loss.

On-side kick was anice though.

We’ll win next week.

Satisfying

example

First time in recent memory that I wasn’t in agony over a Bills game (yes, even the wins work up the blood pressure). Losman is on pace for 1,000 yards passing this year but who cares? We look solid like whoa in the 1st two games this year(on the road, v. division opponents at that!).

Home opener next week!

Same ol’, same ol’

Example

You know, I was mentally prepared to get our asses kicked but instead we just had to be teased by almost three quarters of looking like a win was in the bag. Typical Buffalo style loss.

Being from here does a number on the blood pressure.

An end of an era…

Its official now. After 10 years, Eric Moulds was traded

to Houston for either Houston’s 4th or 5th round pick. Moulds will go down as the 2nd most successful reciever in Bills history behind Andre Reed. His best days were with coach Wade Phillips and Doug Flutie but only one year since (with Bledsoe) did he show his greatness. Gregg Williams didn’t use him like he should have and Mularkey wished he was dead. And so another road is paved for the new direction of the Buffalo Bills.

All Aboard the Geriatric Train

Further proof that Buffalo just doesn’t like change.

Ralph Wilson Announces He Is Senile

At his press conference today he also announced that GM/President Tom Donohoe was fired. Wilson adressed many issues including the uncertainty of Mularkey’s status (which according to WGR55 has been solidified-he will remain as coach). He also apologized for an issue of fan’s anti-manegement signs being confiscated. But the story to me was just Wilson himself. He can make a one word answer into a 30min story. His ability to ramble and his stuborness (he refused to be interrupted-period) made for quite an uplifiting press conference (albeit at an old man’s expense) for an not so uplifting season.

Thank God Thats Over

PHEW! That embarassing 2005 Bills season ended yesterday after another frustrating loss. Hooray for an offensive line that can’t do too much, hurray for a Kelly Holcomb who can’t really ever deliver in the clutch and hurray for the most conservative offense I have ever seen. This should be an interesting offseason, hopefully including a Tom Donohoe firing and the keeping of Eric Moulds but in all likleyhood-the opposite will occur.

UPDATE:
This is what owner Ralph Wilson had to say about his role in the offseason…

From the Buffalo News..
“Wilson said he believes he needs to take a more active role in the team, rather than sitting back and letting his top football man make the decisions without the owner’s significant input.

‘I’m going to be more active,’ Wilson said. ‘I’ve been around this game for a long time. And I’m not going to take somebody
else’s word that we’re going to draft this guy because he’s a heckuva player. If we’re going to take somebody in the first three or four rounds, I want to see him on tape.

‘The last time I saw a player (on tape) we took first, with our first pick, was Thurman Thomas. I saw him personally.’

…So now we know why we haven’t done so well latley, THEY WOULDN’T LET RALPH SEE THE TAPES, DAMMIT! I’m sure Ralph will choose the right man for the ‘06 draft since he’s known for his eye for talent…

and I’ll close it with this Mr.Wilson quote…
“The first three or four rounds, when we talk about who we’re interested in, I want to see (the player),” Wilson said. “I’m not just a bystander who goes up and has a nice Coca-Cola.”

Hope you didn’t buy a Holcomb jersey yet…

Allright boys and girls, the Losman era is up and running again! Some awesome catches by Evans, a security guard breaking his leg, countless fights in the stands, and shutting down Trent Green completely makes for an awesome game. But now let me do a little urban planning rant that is Bills related…
The drive to Orchard Park (done many times before but only yesterday did it really hit me) frustrates me so deeply. Just imagine if these 80,000 people were driving DOWNTOWN instead of 30min south of it. It would be incredible for the city. A beautiful downtown stadium, people bringing in money to downtown…money from people who usually don’t touch downtonw with a 9 foot pole unless they work there. And if Detroit can get a Super Bowl, we can with a new stadium…just imagine the out-of-town money prospects there.Time is running out on the Ralph Wilson Staduim lease and Ralph Wilson’s life. City Council said they would discuss this issue this year, but it’s November and it still hasn’t been brought up yet. Here’s hoping Buffalo for once, gets something done right.
