A fresh start tonight

New logo, new coach, and no longer ranked 119 out of 119 (113 baby!). A record crowd is expected tonight and since the Bisons finale is already sold out you don’t have anywhere else to go. We’re playing a Temple team that finished 0-11 last year… WE CAN DO IT!
Chances are its the only UB football game you’ll go to so you might as well make it this one.
Not all of Buffalo is “New Buffalo”
I’m pretty sure Marc from WNYmedia.net alluded to this earlier this week…the term “New Buffalo” is starting to get out of hand. With Downtown on the rise it’s easy to get really excited for the revival of our city but while all this goes on, the “other” side of Main Street has seen the continuous decline of the quality of life and spread out into neighborhoods that have never seen it before.
I’ll admit, I’ve turned my head to a lot of the crime this year, but with three murders since Friday in my University District that I’ve always defended as a good place to live. Now I don’t feel that anymore.
When you don’t feel safe in your own neighborhood anymore in the daytime-you know your city is NOT entering a “renaissance”.
Tenessee steals our sunshine
This week I discovered that Nashville has taken WB49’s Sarah Bishop

(I miss that newscast…and her specifically). So that wasn’t cool.
And then today they took J.P. Dumont ![]()

At least Memphis’ abandoned sports arena is going through the same problems as the Aud is to get that gosh darned Bass Pro
Getting back to business
Ugh, sorry about the lack of updates…the move back into the land of UB has been unkind-specifically pretaining to the internets.
I just read the NY Times todayand I want to congrats to BuffaloGeek and BuffaloPundit for being mentioned in today’s edition (p A15). Buffalo blogging world is gettin major, and apparently Buffalo the city is too.
Real blogging later
Wet (architecture-related) Dreams…coming true!
Two extremely legitimate sources are saying that Issa’s new Buffalo skyscraper will be AT LEAST 30 stories. But that would be in the worst case scenario. My friends, all signs are pointing towards something taller than the HSBC Center. Also, Issa is rumored to overthrow Paladino as the development czar in downtown. He wants it all baby, and he has the $$$ to do it.
Welcom to motha f***** NEW BUFFALO!
“The Bell and the Hammer” is out

Yesterday This Day And Age released their second album
. Basically its the best album I’ve heard from any Buffalo artists this year. Give them a listen.
Hi. Get a life. #5

Oh man, this one was beautiful…
“Does anyone have any idea the millions of dollars that could be pumped into our local economy! Yet our NFTA and GBNRTC wont even submit the applications! Now thats worthy of tar and feathering! Someone should look up the NFTA Board of Directors find out their home addresses and spit on them and their families!”
Worthy of a tar and feathering?!?!!?
Find the addresses of the NFTA Board of Directors and spit on them and their families!?!?
That, my friends, is so fuckin beautiful.
And that is why I’ll be sad to see BR crack down on these dudes
Anyways, check it out to see if anymore gems come up…
UPDATE: Ooooh, oooooh! I found one more I’d like to share…
“If Rochester finds the federal and state money to bring back their subway system 1927 - 1957 and Buffalo continues to sit on its ass and say that it cannot then I will publish the home addresses of the NFTA President and Board along with the names of their kids so someone can open a hole in their head for the light of day to penetrate their dark souls!
These people really need to be executed in Niagara Square for participating in the destruction of our city! Treat them just like the italians treated Mussolini….hang them and their kids in Niagara Square and let people beat their bodies until they fall apart. Thats what the NFTA Board and Meckler deserve!”
HAHAAHAHAAHA. Oh man this guy is CLASSIC. And probably the same dude also known as “L”
Waking up to Buffalo

CBS’ “Sunday Morning” program had a 1 minute story about Buffalo and Buffalo Old Home Week. Initially it was exciting to see Buffalo on a national program but here’s my transcript of what i saw…
“Buffalo is having an ‘Old Home Week’ for the 1st time since 1907″ (Show Buffaloes grazing)
“Buffalo used to be successful, Mark Twain even lived there” (Roaring 20’s pics, then a pic of Mark Twain)
“Every menu in America has Buffalo in it” (Show people eating wings)
“People know Buffalo for its snow” (Late 80’s, early 90’s footage of cars struggling in snow)
“But did you also know their football team won a championship recently (Show early 90’s tailgaters in Rich Stadium wearing Beebe and Tasker jerseys)
“blah blah blah, Buffalo.” (Worst establishing shot of the HSBC center ever seen)
Wait, Buffalo won a championship recently? First of all, no. Second of all that “Championship” happened 13 years ago at least. So yeah all the footage they showed was probably used by CBS NFL games back during the Bills glory days.
Any publicity is good publicity though.
Jokes and Jokes

A wise man once said “Chippewa is the Indian word for ‘drunk white people’”.
This wise man also said some other funny stuff and was seen around Downtown
Bashar for Czar of Buffalo. Kthanks.
And i quote from WIVB…
“Issa said, ‘We have already acquired other land in the city center of Buffalo. We have already commissioned Canon Design to actually design a dramatic building. … It’s not far from the Statler. It will be very tall. It will be an iconic, symbolic building.’”
Omg. Could Buffalo make an addition to its skyline for the 1st time since 1970 (othert than the Key Towers)?!?!?!?!
Stay tuned. I’ll be all over this shiznit.
